Mark Shetler's Goal Getters

If you know me, you know I am passionate about reaching out to the local refugee community. I want all our neighbors to find a place of belonging. That's why I'm honored to serve on the board of Capital Community Athletics (CCA) and that's why I'm asking you to partner with me in this Big Day of Giving. 

Many of the kids CCA serves come from places like Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine, often carrying experiences of war, displacement, and uncertainty. This is a brand new world for them and I long for it to be a world of welcome. 

CCA welcomes children and youth on the field. Through sports, kids build friendships, gain confidence, and experience what it feels like to be home in a new land. But it doesn’t stop with the game. Coaches and mentors invest in their lives, showing up consistently and reminding them they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

That’s why I’m part of this effort. I believe in the impact of creating spaces where displaced kids can finally find a home.
