At Capital Community Athletics, we’ve seen it happen. Kids from places like Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine arrive in Sacramento carrying stories of loss and displacement—but on our fields, they find friendship, encouragement, and a place to belong.
As board members, we support this work because we’ve witnessed its impact. Through sport, refugee youth are not only welcomed—they’re known, loved, and invested in by coaches and mentors who walk alongside them both on and off the field.
