$20,000 Goal

Rocklin Community Theatre traces its history back to 1990, when the City of Rocklin began offering "Showstoppers" classes at the recently restored Finnish Temperance Hall. That fall, we presented our first full-scale musical production, "Babes in Toyland". The city continued to operate the program up until the recession of 2008. No longer able to directly fund the program, Rocklin Community Theatre was formed in 2009 by an intrepid group of founding volunteers committed to keeping live theatre in Rocklin. In the years the followed, we have rebuilt the program with a bent toward quality. Known as the theatre with the little stage, big-time talent, and a consistently great live orchestra, RCT's productions, artistic staff, and performers have been the recipients of numerous Elly awards, a regional award for live theatre.

Mission

Rocklin Community Theatre's mission is to provide opportunities for actors, directors, musicians, and stage technicians to both learn and pass on their craft in a supportive, family-friendly environment.

Needs

We perform in the historic Finnish Temperance Hall in Rocklin, CA. A wonderful home for our program, it was built in 1906, intended primarily as a community meeting hall. Over the past 30 years we've substantially adapted the facility for our use, but regular capital investment is required to maintain and increase our production standards. Unrestricted funding helps us to make these capital investments.

While we are located in an area of relative affluence, many of our youth participants do not have the means to pay the workshop/class fee and request either a full or partial scholarship. Donations to our Scholarship Fund allow us to say "yes" to all who are eligible to participate without regard for economic status.

We are actively looking for a long-term storage solution. We need approximately 1200 sq ft (or more) of secure, indoor storage for our costumes, sets, and props. We currently pay market rate to rent adequate storage space but would prefer those funds to be directed to other needs.

If you have free time and a good attitude, we can put you to work! Contact us for details on how to get involved.

We actively recruit board members from the community to provide ongoing strategic leadership.
