$75,000 Goal

Twin Lakes Food Bank has been providing one of the most crucial components of health and disease prevention -- food, by serving groceries, the equivalent to 1 million meals, a year. This provision meets much needed gaps in our clients' ability to feed their families because there is more month than money. We are committed to providing healthy alternatives along with resources to promote self sufficiency. We provide groceries for a Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Dinner meal along with 'Back to School' backpacks, shoes, dental kits, and school supplies for children from K-12th grade.

In 2021-22, Twin Lakes served over 1 million pounds of food to nearly 20,000 hungry people.  TLFB continues to meet the increased needs of our community as inflation rises, hitting low income families the hardest.

Mission

The mission of Twin Lakes Food Bank is focused in mobilizing the community to provide food and resources to those experiencing food insecurity.

Needs

Goal: $75,000. These funds will allow us to continue the programs needed to serve those in need. The number of individuals at, or below the poverty level and hunger in our community remains high due to sustained, elevated grocery prices. We are committed to providing nutritional food and support to our neighbors experiencing hunger. Specifically:

$15,000 will allow us to purchase a commercial in freezer to store donated meat and prepared main dishes for our guests.

$25,000 will enable us to construct an awning extension to keep our guests protected from the extreme weather while they wait, up to an hour, in line to receive groceries.

$35,000 will be allocated to purchasing core nutritional food items such as milk, cheese and sliced wheat bread.

Equity Statement

We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion for every client, volunteer, employee, or job applicant. We do not discriminate against race, pregnancy (including childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical conditions) gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition (including cancer and genetic characteristics), military and veteran status or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law, ordinance or regulation.
