How long? Lifelong!

Hi, my name is Coral! I have been part of Project Lifelong for five years, ever since I was in 8th grade. Project Lifelong is very important to me because it has taught me how to skateboard, but more importantly it gave me a community of people who matter a lot to me. I have had the amazing opportunity of growing up in the program and seeing how much it has grown over the years, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to grow in the future. 

If you’re wondering what Project Lifelong is all about, it is a nonprofit organization that teaches kids how to skateboard. Every week, elementary and middle school students get the opportunity to meet up at our site and skate on ramps that our staff and volunteers set up. My favorite thing about Project Lifelong is that it’s not about being a pro at skateboarding or only learning how to skate. It is about building a community and giving kids an environment where they feel safe to “be weird” and enjoy themselves. 

Big Day of Giving is a very important event for the organization because Project Lifelong runs completely off of donations! We need support from our community to bring this program to life and ensure that our participants continue to have these amazing experiences.
