The people who protect our communities deserve support when the weight of service becomes heavy.

Service to others runs through my family, and as a veteran myself, I understand that while military service can build strength, purpose, and deep bonds, it can also leave behind invisible wounds that are hard for others to see. I know veterans sometimes need a hand reconnecting to life beyond service, rediscovering purpose, and finding their place in community again.

Many people never see that part. They don’t see the PTSD, the anxiety, the hypervigilance, the sleepless nights, or the struggle to feel normal again after years of carrying so much.

That’s where RRUFF Healing Heroes comes in.

RRUFF funds service dog training for veterans and first responders living with PTSD and other invisible injuries. These dogs are not just companions. They are highly trained partners who can interrupt panic attacks, provide grounding during moments of distress, improve sleep, and restore confidence and independence.

But what moves me most is that these dogs often do even more than that. They help veterans and first responders step back into the world. They give them a reason to get up, a renewed sense of purpose, and a trusted companion to walk beside them. Through training classes, daily routines, and simply taking their dog into public, these heroes stay connected to people and community instead of withdrawing from it. That matters more than words can fully express.

In my time with RRUFF, I’ve had the privilege of seeing these partnerships form, and the transformation is incredible. A service dog doesn’t just help someone cope. It helps them reclaim their life.

And yes… who doesn’t love dogs? But these dogs are so much more than lovable. They are trained lifelines. They create connection, restore hope, and help carry people forward when life feels unbearably heavy.

This year, our goal is to fund 15 Hero/Dog Teams, each requiring up to $7,800 in specialized training.

Every dollar raised helps remove the financial barrier so these heroes can receive the support they deserve.

If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you can’t give today, sharing this page helps us reach more people who care about supporting our heroes.

Together, we can continue supporting those who served us,

One Hero and One Dog at a Time.
