Sam Greenlee's Big Day of Giving Challenge

This month marks the start of my 7th year with Alchemist CDC. It has been and continues to be an honor to work with such incredible people to connect Sacramento communities to land, food, and opportunity.

Our work in the local food system cultivates vibrant spaces where neighbors can build community; in which everyone can get enough of the food they like and need; and where people can make an honest living growing, making, and serving food. We help keep dollars circulating in the local economy: creating more jobs for neighbors, building local resilience, and fighting hunger.

Food is foundational to health, dignity, cultural exchange, stability, and a life where dreaming bigger is possible. Every program Alchemist CDC runs is built around that truth.

I have watched families stretch their grocery budgets further at our farmers' markets. I have met entrepreneurs who had every reason to give up and didn't, because Alchemist gave them the tools they needed to thrive. We’re working towards building a more equitable Sacramento through our rich food and agricultural roots. 

This Big Day of Giving, I am asking you to help me meet my personal goal of raising $2,500 for Alchemist CDC. Every dollar you give multiplies with matching donations and sends ripples through our communities, building a supportive foundation for all Sacramentans.
