Big Day of Giving 2026

Nineteen years ago, I moved to Citrus Heights as a single mom with two young boys.  My oldest son is autistic. Like so many single mothers, I was doing everything I could to hold it all together… but behind the scenes, it was incredibly isolating.

There were days filled with uncertainty. Moments where I questioned if I was doing enough. Times when I just wished I had someone who understood what I was going through or someone who could offer guidance, encouragement, or simply remind me that I wasn’t alone.

At the time, there wasn’t an organization like Single Mom Strong.

That’s why being a Board Member today means so much to me.

Single Mom Strong is more than just a non-profit organization, it’s a lifeline. It’s a community that steps in where so many single moms feel the gap the most. They encourage, enrich, and educate, giving women the tools, confidence, and support they need to build a stable, thriving future for themselves and their children.

They are empowering single moms to not just survive, but to truly succeed.

And I can’t help but think… how different my journey might have felt if I had this kind of support.

Today, I am so proud to be part of an organization that is changing lives every single day. But the reality is there are still so many moms out there who need this support.

That’s why Big Day of Giving matters so much.
