If we don’t place food first, we cannot learn, work, grow, or prosper.
Food insecurity is rising across Yolo County. To meet the moment, Yolo Food Bank is launching Food First, a rapid-response effort to support CalFresh recipients and those experiencing food insecurity in Yolo County. This countywide response builds on our existing network of community partners, grocery retailers, farmers, and volunteers to increase access to food, expand distribution capacity, and invite everyone to help nourish our neighbors.
Our Four-Point Response
Food First Fund Allocation
We’re mobilizing emergency funds to source and distribute more food across Yolo County, including fresh produce, dairy, protein, and pantry staples. From November 1 to December 15, 100% of donated funds will provide Yolo Food Bank the opportunity to meet the demand where it’s needed most.
Additional Emergency Food Distributions
In response to rising need, we’re adding new emergency distribution events across the county. These provide immediate relief for families who need extra support, with no paperwork or eligibility requirements, just access to food.
Expanded Public Community Food Distributions
We’ve increased groceries at our regular Public Community Food Distributions by 20%, ensuring more consistent access to essential food for individuals and families across the county.

Strengthening Our Sutter Health Partner Agency Store
We’re expanding support for our nonprofit partners, pantries, and faith-based organizations through our Sutter Health Partner Agency Store, helping them meet increased demand by providing additional food that they can access.
Together, we can meet the need and meet the moment by putting Food First.
