Can you imagine going a week or a month without a shower? How about 6 months?
For our unhoused neighbors in Sacramento, that is the reality. Mercy Holistic Ministry operates a mobile shower trailer and provides free showers, haircuts, hygiene items, fresh socks and undies and more.
Trauma-informed compassionate care includes meeting people where they are, looking them in the eye, smiling, greeting and welcoming them to whatever service they would like. Conversations evolve into relationships and trust.
I love that Mercy Holistic is out on the streets meeting real needs and offering dignity and hope to people who often feel invisible.
