To my family, friends, and community,
When I first moved to Davis to make it my permanent home, one of my biggest needs was simple but essential: finding community and building friendships. Like many people who arrive somewhere new, I was looking for a place where I could feel connected and at home.
International House Davis was that place for me.
It was one of the first places I went to, and through events like iFest and other gatherings, I was able to meet friends, find my Argentinian community, and begin building a sense of belonging. What started as a place to meet people quickly became something much deeper—a space where cultures come together, stories are shared, and meaningful connections are built.
Today, seven years later, I feel incredibly grateful not only to have found that community, but to now work at I-House and be part of advancing its mission every day.
When the world feels divided, I-House keeps us connected.
In a time when so much feels heavy and uncertain, I-House offers something powerful: a place where people come together across languages, cultures, and generations to build understanding—not through headlines, but through real human connection. It’s what we often call our Global Living Room—a space where everyone is welcomed with dignity and where belonging grows through everyday interactions.
This Big Day of Giving, I’m inviting you to join me in supporting I-House.
Your gift helps sustain a place where:
- People find community when they need it most
- Cultures are celebrated and shared
- Newcomers are welcomed with dignity
- Connection is built across differences
We may not be able to solve everything happening in the world, but we can build the kind of community that reminds us what is possible.
If I-House has ever touched your life—or if you believe in creating a more connected and compassionate community—I hope you’ll consider giving.
Thank you for being part of this.
