Did you know about the remarkable life and work of Thelma Buchholdt, first Philippine-born American legislator in the United States? Neither did I! Many of us haven't had the chance to learn about Asian and Filipino American history because these stories have not been written or published. 

Right now is a great time to shine a light on the enduring contributions of immigrant women to our country!

Let's support Justine and Sawaga River Press publish a picture book about Thelma Buchholdt, member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 1974-1982, historian, author, attorney, culture bearer, and community activist.
