Why We Support Folsom Cordova Community Partnership

I recently joined the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership as a Board Director because their mission of building strong families aligns well with my own values and goals. I understand that providing a struggling family with often small assistance can make a huge difference to that family. Helping families to identify their own needs, to build upon their own strengths and to provide a space to grow community relationships are noble goals that I am honored to be a part of.

One thing that I can bring to FCCP is a wide audience of community members who strive to make our community better for everyone. I am so excited to share the hard work of FCCP with our Ruby's Books Family. 

Please consider supporting FCCP during the 2024 Bog Day of Giving Campaign. Any amount helps. A donation of $25 provides a child with diapers for a week, $75 provides  healthy snacks for 5 parenting classes, $100 provides a bicycle for a young adult to get to work, $250 provides one month of supplies for a support group.

About the FCCP

The Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is a 501(c)3 community based non-profit. Our mission and vision support our work to: build strong families, meet the needs of struggling parents to increase self-sufficiency, promote youth development through positive peer and adult relationships and develop employment skills for individuals to achieve their career goals. We bring together resources and programming in a Family Resource Center and Job Center to create a “one-stop” experience, which encourages and supports families as they identify their own needs and reach their goals.  We recognize that each family has strengths and encourage each family to build on these strengths to solve their own challenges.

We have two primary focuses.  One is to prevent child abuse through parent education and support, free family activities and vital resources. The other is to assist families in achieving self-sufficiency through job search assistance, providing scholarships for career training, professional skill building education, financial empowerment, refugee / asylee employment supports, youth leadership and career exploration. We are committed to addressing the distinct needs of families and youth in Rancho Cordova, Folsom and the surrounding areas. They are two communities that are knitted together under a local school board and as neighbors on the Highway 50 corridor.
