Belonging Begins Here.

Supporting immigrants, refugees, and survivors of trafficking is a cause that’s close to my heart, especially because my parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents have experienced the immigration journey. That's why I believe in the work of Opening Doors. 

I’m currently serving as the board chair of Opening Doors, and I've been on the board since 2020.  I'm proud of the work that they do everyday to provide support to our community- especially some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Opening Doors supports immigrants, refugees, and survivors of trafficking on their path to stability, self-sufficiency and belonging. Stability – physical safety and the meeting of basic needs – brings hope for the future. Self-sufficiency brings agency and the capacity to thrive. And belonging brings a sense of home. They connect our neighbors with resources, help them navigate complicated systems, and support them in gaining access to education, employment, and healthcare.
