What is Cool Davis?

We are a dedicated group of your friends and neighbors who are working together to build a resilient community while taking thoughtful steps to mitigate the future impacts of climate change.

The crisis has arrived.

Whether it's 115* afternoons without an air conditioner, no water available for a dying garden, air that is too smoky to breath, wind storms that send limbs through the roof—we've all felt the effects of our changing climate in very real ways. The crisis has arrived and it is happening faster than we could have imagined. Sometimes it's just too much. The physical conditions are hard but the emotional devastation can be overwhelming. This feeling of helplessness does not have to be the end of the story. 

Choosing our future.

In the same way that the current crisis is the result of the decisions that we have made in the past, our future will be the result of the decisions we make now. Some of these actions will be small and personal while others will be on a larger scale. All of them matter. A future that follows business-as-usual behaviors will be much more difficult than any version that comes after strategic actions.

Action network.

Cool Davis brings people together to make these changes happen.   We create educational programs and host movie circles to raise awareness. We work with local government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We connect vulnerable populations with the resources they need to stay safe during extreme weather events. We support an entire coalition of citizens who are working to reduce the impacts of climate change by improving the energy efficiency of the places in which we live, promoting solar projects, driving electric vehicles, riding bicycles, planting climate-ready landscapes, reducing food waste and living more simply. We are also an organization that understands the importance of community and being there for one another.
