As someone who has spent my life fighting for animals, I know how rare it is to find a place that does this work right. Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary in Vacaville is one of those places.
In just seven years, this 60-acre refuge has rescued over 1,000 animals -- most of them farmed animals -- among the most overlooked and abused animals on the planet. The sanctuary has also welcomed more than 1,000 visitors to meet the animals and hear their stories.
At Herd & Flock, farm animals find peace and the freedom to simply be.
Finn was a dairy calf destined for slaughter at four months old. Olivia was a piglet who fell from a transport truck and was rescued by a stranger. Both now live full lives surrounded by friends and people who love them.
Nothing moves people like meeting an animal face to face and learning their story. Herd & Flock has built something rare: a community hub for compassion.
