For this year’s Big Day of Giving, the local nonprofit I’m supporting is Placer Land Trust, and the continued preservation of Clover Valley. I value this organization because as a member of the Community Council, I know I’m helping to protect natural and agricultural lands here in Placer County that will have a global impact for generations to come. 

Land conservation has never been more necessary or important, but unfortunately, it is not keeping up with the pace of growing threats to our lands, waters, wildlife, and ways of life. Especially here in Placer County, one of the fastest growing counties in the State, the community effort to raise the funds to preserve the story of the Nisenan people in Clover Valley was tireless and amazing. 

But every piece of land conserved has continued needs to make it accessible to the public, diminish carbon dioxide in the air we breathe, create healthier soil for our crops, and cleaner water from our taps. The preserves also provide vital habitat for plants and wildlife, continuing a biodiverse environment around us.

Your donation of any size will not only help protect more vital land, but it will also make you a Placer Land Trust member, or will extend your membership for a full year. AND, the first $75,000 in donations will be DOUBLED by a matching fund!
