Your donation – and impact – will be DOUBLED this Big Day of Giving!
For this year’s Big Day of Giving, one of the local nonprofits we're each supporting is Placer Land Trust. We value this organization because as Community Council members, we know we're directly supporting the work to conserve natural lands, farms and ranches, protect wildlife habitat, partner with and honor the Tribes who are the original stewards of these lands, and ensure current and future generations can enjoy the natural beauty of our region.
Placer Land Trust has been around for 35 years and has protected 22,078 acres. This includes:
• 8,074 acres of Sierra forest
• 9,260 acres of foothill oak woodlands
• 4,744 acres of valley grassland
• 11,102 acres of agricultural land
• 40 miles of trails and 24 miles of streams and rivers
It's an incredible achievement, but conservation has never been more necessary or important. We are not keeping up with the pace of growing threats to our lands, waters, wildlife, and ways of life. Especially here in Placer County, one of the fastest growing counties in the State.
The good news is, together, we can make a difference! Your donation of any size will not only help protect more vital land, but it will also make you a Placer Land Trust member, or will extend your membership for a full year. AND, the first $100,000 in donations will be DOUBLED by a matching fund!
Every piece of land conserved means less carbon dioxide in the air we breathe, healthier soil for our crops, and cleaner water from our taps. Their preserves also provide vital habitat for plants and wildlife, and many create outdoor recreation opportunities for us all to enjoy.
Please join us in donating to Placer Land Trust during Big Day of Giving!
