CASA Sacramento in Honor of Crystal Burns

CASA Sacramento is blessed to have been transformed by Crystal's legacy of compassionate advocacy for youth in foster care. She poured her heart, soul, and considerable talents into the Court Appointed Special Advocate program because she knew that one consistent, caring adult can make a life-changing difference for a foster child.

Crystal could always say it best, so here are her own words from Big Day of Giving 2023:

"If you know me, you know that kids are my favorite.

One of my grandest wishes for my children is for them to grow up in a world in which all of the children they meet have the love and support they deserve. That's the community I dream of when I dream big.

I know what a tall order this wish is because I have been working in foster care for 15 years.  

Foster care was designed to be a temporary, life-saving intervention. It was not intended to be the solution.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Sacramento County matches a caring volunteer with a youth in foster care to be a friend, a mentor and an advocate in dependency court.

I hope that you will join me in donating to CASA Sacramento. Because every donation helps CASA give a child a champion and every child that has a champion has a chance to grow into the adult they dream of being."
