I Love Lincoln Public Library

Lincoln Public Library launched a brand new program to encourage childhood literacy, Read Across Lincoln. In 2023, the library provided over 700 first graders in Lincoln with a free book. One book can spark a love of reading for a lifetime with young readers at a critical time in their development. 

The library also intends to build on its successful teen engagement projects, like the Summer Youth Writing Contest. Last year, over 90 students submitted original prose and poetry, which were printed in a lovely anthology, "Oceans of Possibilities."

The FOLL Board hopes to support projects like Read Across Lincoln and the Teen Summer Writing Contest through funds raised on Big Day of Giving.

And we are excited to expand support for online resources like Hoopla, which gives every library patron access to the library's catalog, overcoming transportation or mobility issues.
