Black women are 9 times more likely than any other ethnic group to die from stress-related disorders and auto-immune diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, complications from high-blood pressure, lupus, and sarcoidosis. Many are not able to get treatment for these disorders until they are in the end stages.
Mental healthcare is still very stigmatized in the black community and is often considered as a luxury item only available to those who can afford it. We are working towards making mental healthcare accessible and affordable to individuals in the greater Sacramento area.
Your $50 contribution will assist us with being able to continue the path of making mental healthcare affordable and accessible by providing operating costs, supplies for workshops and trainings, and community outreach. We are also in need of volunteers to assist with outreach and administrative support. Every little bit helps, anything you can give will save a black woman's life.
