Our little ‘ohana appreciates the opportunity to stay connected to Hawai’i and continue our beautiful lineage.
Kaimana (age 7) says: “Dancing makes me feel love and working together. I love when Kumu does ipu heke.”
Mākena (age 9) says: “Hula means happiness. Hula means community. And hula means one of my cultures. It means a lot.”
Makanaalohaokalani says “This hālau has provided an invaluable lifeline back to the islands I miss every day. Dancing alongside my hula sisters and learning from our Kumu has lifted me out of dark times. It’s a gift to be trusted to Kōkua for the keiki class every weekend, where their growing love of hula continues to inspire all.”
Mahalo nui loa for supporting ODG on this Big Day of Giving! Fundraisers like this allow us to keep classes affordable for families. We look forward to sharing what we continue to learn through this wonderful organization.
