Helping 10,000 Local Kids Excel in School

Hello everyone, it is me - Wako, Anthony, Cesar, Cesar-Anthony, Jr., And for my 45th Birthday I am raising money to support my organization, United Way California Capital Region.

I am also committed to supporting local nonprofits by participating in the annual Big Day of Giving (BDOG) on Thursday 2 May 2024.

For my 45th Birthday, I am supporting the United Way California Capital Region (UWCCR). When we donate to UWCCR on #BDOG2024 we will support their 100th Anniversary Goal to raise $3 million to help 10,000 local kids excel in school by 2025.

Since 1923, UWCCR has brought people together to build stronger, healthier, and more compassionate communities, raising more than $500 million to fight poverty in the region and help families succeed. As they celebrate a century of service this year, they have found one place in each community where we can reach the most families in need - school. School is Square One for ending poverty because education is the great equalizer. Education is the ladder out of poverty. It opens the door to jobs, resources, and skills that help people not just survive, but thrive.

UWCCR's Square One approach provides a continuum of services aimed at ending poverty for local families, starting with education. 

From providing books to preschoolers for their own home library, and kindergarten readiness for those who didn’t have the opportunity to attend preschool, to a reading tutoring program for grade-schoolers, and helping emancipated foster youth with financial literacy and support. UWCCR is dedicated to improving the opportunities for children to ensure they have the educational foundation to succeed as adults.

100th Anniversary Goal As UWCCR enters its 100th anniversary year, the goal is to expand our education program and help 10,000 kids excel in school by 2025. UWCCR invites the community to pave the way for a brighter future for our region's children and donate today!
