Since the age of 4, being a big sister has always been a pivotal part of my identity and even after my brother passed away at the age of 17, I knew my role as a big sister would live on by living out and honoring Jack's legacy. I began working as a Probation Officer in Juvenile Hall, building rapport with youth who just needed someone to believe in them, someone who made them feel safe, seen, heard and valued and someone to remind them that their mistakes do not define them. While working at the detention facility, I learned about the BE BOLD program and felt instantly called and connected to the mission. I was hired on in 2024 as a Case Manager, directly serving the youth I worked with in Juvenile Hall, and it was truly a full circle moment. I have walked alongside these youth for the last 4 years, celebrating their wins, supporting them through their losses and advocating for a healthy and happy future through connection, communication and collaboration. Being Jack's sister taught me how to show up in the world for other people, and with your help, I can only hope to continue the call to service alongside all the beautiful souls I work with and work for.
