ABOUT US
Since 2004, we have served as a beacon of hope for foster youth navigating the judicial system. We recruit, train, and empower compassionate volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs).

A CASA volunteer acts as the eyes and ears of the court, ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and their best interests are protected. By building a trusting, long-term bond, a CASA is often the only consistent, caring adult in a child's life during a time of immense uncertainty.

Our Core Programs:

  • CASA Advocacy: Our advocates provide hope and stability to foster youth who have been detained by the judicial system through no fault of their own. They serve as a powerful voice for the voiceless, working to ensure every child achieves permanency in a safe, stable home.
  • Be Bold Program: This specialized initiative supports youth who have experienced human trafficking. By pairing them with a dedicated CASA and offering educational and confidence-building activities, we help survivors reclaim their future.
  • Family Services Prevention Program: We work directly with families whose children have been detained or are at risk of removal. Our mentors provide peer-to-peer guidance and support, equipping parents with the tools necessary to break generational cycles of poverty, domestic violence, and homelessness.
  • Kinship Allies Program: We support relatives who have stepped up to care for their kin. We provide the vital resources and navigation support these families need to build a successful, nurturing home environment.

Through this dual approach of advocacy and prevention, we strive to ensure every child has a permanent, safe, and nurturing place to thrive.

Our Impact in 2025:
In the past year alone, we supported 544 youth in Placer and Yuba Counties through our CASA and Be Bold programs. Additionally, we empowered 221 families through our Family Services Prevention Program and 50 families through our Kinship Allies Program.

Giving Activity

Mission

We support and empower foster children, at-risk youth, and families in crisis by connecting them with compassionate volunteer advocates who provide hope, guidance, and a pathway to stability and lasting permanency.

Needs

Volunteers

Our mission thrives because of the dedication and passion of our volunteers. They are the heart of everything we do. We actively recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to our advocates, who play a critical role in delivering our core programs. From standing up for vulnerable children in court to offering hands-on assistance to families in need, our volunteers make a profound difference in the lives of those we serve. If you're looking to create meaningful change, consider joining our team of volunteers and help us expand our impact.

Funding

Securing funding is our top priority this year, especially with the recent loss of state funding. Every dollar invested in our programs helps us serve children and families who need us most. Your support enables us to sustain and grow critical initiatives like Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Family Services, Be Bold, and K-9 for Kids. Together, these programs empower children, strengthen families, and create pathways toward brighter futures. Your generosity ensures that we can continue offering these life-changing services where they are needed most.

CASA Store

We are proud to offer foster youth and families a CASA Store—a welcoming space where they can shop for essentials completely free of charge. Stocked with clothing, school supplies, toys, and hygiene products, the store is designed to ease the transition for children and families moving into new placements. It's more than just a store—it's a beacon of support and stability during times of change, ensuring that foster children and their caregivers have the resources they need to feel safe, cared for, and prepared for the next chapter of their lives.
