The chaos we remember from the fall of Kabul is behind us. But as the video above shows, the effects of those terrible days still haunt the lives of brave Afghans. Let's not abandon them now. Let's help their new lives in America get off to a good start. Opening Doors has helped Afghans and other refugees do just that for over three decades.
Once they are settled Opening Doors backs small businesses started by immigrants. Recent arrivals can't get bank loans so they often rely on Opening Doors for a path to economic prosperity.
Newcomers are not the only ones that need a helping hand. In recent years the Sacramento area has been a hub for labor and sex trafficking. Last year, Opening Doors advocated for over a hundred victims of trafficking, as they rebuilt their lives.
As a volunteer and member of the Board of Directors, it has been my honor to observe our hard working staff dedicate themselves to helping others. I'm asking you to join them by making whatever donation you can spare.
