Yolo Farm to Fork’s Go Visit a Farm! field trips have sent hundreds of students on field trips that combine farm exploration, interactive discussion, and hands-on farm activities. On these trips, every student participates in a harvest or farming activity and is encouraged to eat the produce that grown on the site. Seasonal learning activities may focus on compost, parts of a flower, growing your own vegetables, vermi-composting, and learning about beneficial insects and birds that keep the farm healthy and sustainable.
The cost to send one class to a day at a local farm is $800-1,000. My personal goal this Big Day of Giving is to raise $1,000 to send a local school classroom to Go Visit a Farm!
