$20,000 Goal

Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing our community with services and programs that help eliminate pet overpopulation and reduce the euthanasia of adoptable animals.

Established in 1994, Animal Outreach serves over 6,000 cats and dogs each year via our low cost spay/neuter clinic. Animal Outreach is the only organization in El Dorado County to offer free spays and neuters for community cats through our sponsored Free Feral Day once per month.

In addition, we also manage adoption and foster programs that allow us to find homes for special need cats/ kittens, barn cats and many others.

We are proud to have accomplished the following in 2025:

842 - Canine spays/neuters
6,766 - Feline spays/neuters
1,633 - Feline intakes
1,519 - Feline adoptions

600 community cats benefitted from our free monthly community cat spay/neuter/vaccinate days.

We expect those numbers to be even greater this year! Generous support from individuals like you allow us to continue serving the animals in our community.

Mission

Provide community service for animals in need through low-cost spay and neuter and vaccination services to help eliminate pet overpopulation and euthanasia of adoptable animals.

Provide a safe and caring haven for our shelter animals until adopted.

Promote, through education and training, responsible pet ownership.

Promote a fiscally responsible organization so that the funding available benefits as many animals as possible.

Needs

Animal Outreach always appreciates monetary donations for basic care such as food, veterinary expenses, care products, and other operational needs. These donations ease financial burden and increase our ability to fulfill our mission.

At the end of 2025, we purchased a new building that will soon become the home of our low cost clinic and cat shelter. We are currently campaigning to raise funds to fund the renovation of the building.

Animal Outreach, like all charitable organizations, cannot survive without the time and dedication of volunteers. Whether you have an hour, a day, or a couple days, there are a number of areas volunteers can help Animal Outreach. Volunteers are needed to support all areas of operations including foster care, shelter cleaning, office work, handyman skills, fundraising and event assistance, and adoption coordinating at PetSmart locations. Please contact us at (530) 642-2287 if you would like to volunteer.

We are always looking to the future and would welcome resumes of those who possess business or animal related experience in order to expand and diversify our Board of Directors.

Donations in kind of items such as wet food, litter, and kitten formula are always appreciated.

Equity Statement

Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode is committed to equitable access to veterinary care and pet support services for all, regardless of income, background, or circumstance. We work to reduce barriers through affordable programs and inclusive outreach across El Dorado, Sacramento, and Placer Counties.

We believe every person deserves the opportunity to care for their animals with dignity, and we strive to create a welcoming environment for the diverse communities we serve.
