Woodland Opportunity Village announces nearing
completion of the Freeman Garden Court project 🎉
Over the past year we have been hard at work building, coordinating, connecting, and putting the final touches towards the grand opening that we are very excited to share with the community and the City of Woodland.
Freeman Garden Court provides permanent homes for a mix of very-low income, and low-income residents. There will be 12 duplexed tiny homes with a Common Building. These are permanent homes on slab foundations, complete with one bedroom, a living area, a kitchen, a 3-piece bathroom, and storage, all in 385 square feet. These homes meet the California building code. They will be powered with electric and solar energy. There is a community building with laundry facilities, an office, a gathering room with catering kitchen, an ADA bathroom, and a patio with a shade cover. HUD Project Based Vouchers have been secured to finance the site operations for 20-40 years.

Annual Fundraiser
As part of nearing the completion of this project, we are launching our annual fundraiser happening here April 23rd through May 7th, in partnership with Big Day of Giving, which is a Sacramento Region Community Foundation's annual giving event hosted on GivingEdge.
Supporters
We would like to thank the team that made this possible including Friends of the Mission, Aligned Architecture, the City of Woodland, Dignity Health, Woodland Tree Foundation, our dedicated board, and most importantly, donors and supporters in our community.
Social workers and life coaches will offer activities and services responsive to the needs of the community. Community members, including members of the faith community, will come alongside residents helping them experience welcome and worth…and emotional and spiritual well-being.
These permanent affordable home rents will cost
no more than 30% of the household’s income.
Quality of life amenities including: trees, gardens, recreation and play spaces will be part of the community.
