$20,000 Goal

Since 1961, JA of Sacramento has impacted over 350,000 young people through Common Core-aligned K-12 programs guided by the three pillars of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness. JA programs enable students to make connections between what they learn in school and real-world applications. JA programs ignite the spark in young people to recognize the value of their education; be aware of and plan for their future; and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century through hands-on learning experiences. These early insights are essential building blocks for economic empowerment and self-sufficiency.

JA of Sacramento works with a diverse population of students from across the socio-economic spectrum. We deliver JA programs through implementation methods that address the specific needs of our community and schools. JA of Sacramento has innovatively transformed our traditional in-class and on-site programs into virtual classrooms and online learning platforms. We curate JA programs to best engage and inspire local youth.

Mission

The mission of Junior Achievement of Sacramento is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Needs

Currently, nearly 10,000 local youth benefit from our economic empowerment programs throughout our six surrounding counties. There are over 410,000 students in that same footprint. The demand for our programs greatly surpasses our funding. Every $33 allows us to further our goal of helping our local youth to be smart about money and find success in the work world.

Sponsor a region, district, school, grade or classroom. We offer over a wide array of economic empowerment programs for grades kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Volunteerism is at the heart of all that we do. Over 300 volunteers provide our programs each year. There are also numerous other opportunities to engage including serving on event planning committees, kit recycling and office help.

Our current board is 14 members strong. We are always considering ways to strengthen and grow our board to ensure that we are well positioned to provide the policy, oversight, fundraising and advocacy to carry our our mission of empowering our local young people to own their economic success.
