Winters is a small rural agricultural community facing sever financial, technological, and infrastructure difficulties that put our students at great disadvantage when compared to those of larger and wealthier Districts throughout the State. WEF was formed to expand educational offerings in the public school system and ensure that those vital programs cherished by teachers, administrators, parents, and students do not fall victim to budgetary shortfalls.
Winters Middle School serves approximately 350 students.
Wolfskill Continuation High School serves approximately 39 students.
Winters High School serves 500 students.

The California Department of Education Accountability Progress Report for 2015-16 lists combined statistics for Winters Schools and reports that 65.6% of the students served by these five schools are listed as qualifying for free or reduced-price meals while 36% of students are identified as English learners.
Our top needs:
  1. Funding: Unrestricted - These students are some of the most vulnerable in California and a donation in support of the Winters Education Foundation will greatly enhance their chances of success as they transition from the lower grade levels through high school and on to adulthood.
  2. Board Members - WEF is always looking for energetic and determined Board Members.
  3. In-Kind Donations - School Equipment, computers, etc.
  4. Volunteers - The WEF Board would love volunteers to head fund raising and other efforts.
  5. Funding: Program - WEF receives grant requests each year for ongoing funding of outdoor education. Donations to help fund this program in perpetuity would be greatly appreciated.
"In 2013, the Winters Education Foundation wrote a technology grant application to the Yocha DeHe Community Fund and was awarded $353,000 to be used to purchase computers and technology-based educational tools for the Winters High School and Middle School. In 2014, The WEF Board Chairman was authorized to act as President of a local School Facilities bond drive which raised $15 million for much need repairs and upgrades. In 2016, key members of the WEF Board again served in official capacity during a second School Facilities bond initiative which raised an additional $17 million dollars for Winters School Facilities. This money was raised directly from the local community under WEF Board member supervision. In addition, WEF Board Members have and continue to serve on steering committees to advise our local Community College District on joint educational efforts in Winters."
