About Sojo Museum: The Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum was founded in 1996 by visual artist and community activist Shonna McDaniel's, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating Black history and the accomplishments of African American people. Originally named the Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum, the institution evolved to reflect its deep commitment to documenting, educating, and sharing the rich heritage, culture, and contributions of African Americans.
