It is a privilege to serve on the board for Runnin' for Rhett. And, the Big Day of Giving is a special day for us! Over the years, the money we've raised helped us to purchase nearly 7,000 pairs of shoes for our Youth Fitness Program! Our annual goal is to raise enough money to purchase ANOTHER 1,000 pairs of new running shoes!
As with everything else, shoe prices continue to rise, so we need your help more than ever! Each pair of shoes costs about $45. This year, my goal is raising $1,000. That will cover the cost of about 20 shoes. For many of our students, it will be the first pair of new running shoes they will own.
One of my favorite things to do is volunteer at the finish line at our kids' races and present them with their medals. And, it's extra special when I watch them cross that line wearing a new pair of kicks.
