UCP is excited to bring back Saddle Pals, our popular adaptive horseback riding program for children and adults with disabilities. Through our PATH-accredited program, Saddle Pals promotes growth, independence, and improved quality of life for riders with developmental disabilities, helping them:
- Develop a bond with UCP’s therapy horses
- Learn responsibilities associated with riding a horse and animal care
- Expand their knowledge and skills in a fun, supportive environment
Now, with the support of our partner, The Sacramento Horseman's Association, Saddle Pals has the opportunity to take our program to the next level. With the support of our community, UCP is seeking to secure funding to build a new riding arena designed specifically with the accessibility needs of our participants in mind.
A new arena will allow us to:
- Serve more participants who are currently on the waitlist
- Expand lesson availability by providing a weather-resilient environment for therapy sessions
- Improve accessibility and safety with ADA-compliant infrastructure
- Ensure long-term stability in a space built for our program's unique needs.
