I don't often speak about a deeply personal motivation for starting GIRLS Rock Sacramento: my daughter, Laynie. As 2026 represents the 10th anniversary of GRS, as well as Laynie's 10th and final year participating as a camper, I think it's only fitting that I honor her amazing legacy with a special BDOG fundraiser. She played drums in our very first camp in 2016, when she was just seven years old. Every year since then, she's either played drums and/or bass, has sung, co-written songs, served as a peer mentor, volunteered at countless events, and stepped up to perform as a member of WISTERIA, the GRS house band. Now nearly 17, I'm profoundly proud of Laynie--GIRLS Rock Sacramento's first AND final OG legacy camper. Please consider a donation to GRS on the Big Day of Giving in her honor!
