Pacers Moving Forward

Everyone deserves more than a chance to dream. They deserve the opportunity, support, and community to turn those dreams into something real. 

At RFDC’s Pacers Moving Forward Program (PMF) at Grant Union High School, our youth are doing exactly that. They show up every day ready to grow, lead, and prepare themselves for futures that are bigger than their circumstances.

PMF provides a holistic range of services where scholars are nurtured academically, socially, and personally. Through tutoring and study halls, scholars receive the academic support they need to succeed and build confidence in their learning. Our parent engagement and monthly meetings create space for the entire family unit to come together, gain tools and resources, and engage in meaningful conversations around mental health, advocacy, finances, and more. Guest speakers and networking opportunities expose scholars to pathways and possibilities they may have never imagined. Through our field trips and community service, they not only explore the world beyond the classroom, but they also lean into the power of giving back, uplifting their communities, and becoming active changemakers. 

But what truly makes PMF special is our youth leadership. Our scholars don’t just participate, they lead. From organizing and engaging in meaningful conversations as part of the youth advocacy team, capturing powerful moments through media, app, learning entrepreneurship and creative expression in our fashion and design enrichment, our scholars are shaping their own narratives.
