If you or a loved one facing cancer, you know how much it consumes every part of life. It doesn’t just affect the body—it takes over routines, conversations, thoughts, and even moments that used to feel simple. Appointments, treatments, and uncertainty can make days blur together, and it becomes easy to forget what it feels like to just exist without fear in the background.

For families, it’s just as heavy. Watching someone you love go through cancer brings emotional exhaustion, constant worry, and a sense of helplessness that’s hard to put into words. Life starts to revolve around survival, and everything else can fade into the background.

This is why the Me-One Foundation retreat exists.

For three days in the Santa Cruz Mountains, cancer patients and their families are given something they rarely get: permission to pause. To step away from hospitals, schedules, and stress. To breathe fresh air, sit in nature, share meals, laugh, cry, and simply be together without the weight of cancer leading every moment.

This retreat is not about treatment—it’s about humanity. It’s a chance to reconnect as people first, not patients or caregivers. To sleep without worry taking over the night. To wake up to quiet mornings in the redwoods. To remember joy, even in the middle of something incredibly difficult.

In this space, families can talk without interruption, hold each other without rushing, and create memories that aren’t defined by illness. Patients can feel seen beyond their diagnosis. Caregivers can rest, even briefly, knowing they are supported.

Cancer takes so much. This retreat is about giving something back—peace, connection, dignity, and a moment to feel whole again.
