$10,000 goal

We’re currently participating in the upcoming Big Day of Giving (May 7) to support a mission that we believe deeply aligns with yours: helping students see themselves in history.

Right now, many California students learn about the Gold Rush and the missions—but not about the diverse women who helped build this state. That’s where our book, The Time Travelers, comes in.

Written as a time-travel adventure for grades 4–9, it introduces students to real women from California history—leaders like March Fong Eu, Mary Tape, and Dolores Huerta—whose stories are often missing from traditional curriculum.

The California State Library has included The Time Travelers on its CA 175 reading list as part of the state’s 175th anniversary of statehood. It also closely aligns with requirements about teaching diversity in social studies lessons established by the FAIR Education Act of 2011.

Imagine a student finally seeing someone who looks like them in history—not as a footnote, but as a leader.

Our goal is simple:
â€˘ Update and reprint the book
â€˘ Distribute it to classrooms and every county main library across California
â€˘ Provide educators with a richer, more inclusive teaching tool that aligns with the FAIR Act requirements.

We’re raising funds to make that happen—and to expand access to archival materials, oral histories, and educational resources throughout the state.

If this resonates with you, we’d be honored to have your support—whether that’s a donation, sharing this with your network, or simply learning more:
