This year for Big Day of Giving, I’m combining my passion for collage with a mission that’s close to my heart: supporting the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum (SOJO).
Why SOJO?
SOJO is the only museum in Sacramento dedicated specifically to African American history and art. It is a vital cultural hub for our city, but my favorite part of their work is the Youth Docent Program.
This program empowers high school and college students by:
• Teaching History: They dive deep into the stories of abolitionists, artists, and entrepreneurs.
• Building Careers: Students gain professional skills in research, public speaking, and collaboration.
• Providing Support: Participants receive a $500 monthly stipend, helping them prepare for life after graduation.
My Goal
I’m hosting collage activities to raise funds for these incredible young leaders. To show my appreciation, I’m offering some creative thank-you gifts for larger donations:
• Donate $100+: Receive a custom Collage Kit to start your own masterpiece.
• Donate $250+: I will host a Private Collage Class for you and up to 3 friends!
Early Giving is open now, and the Big Day is May 7th. Thank you for helping me support the next generation of historians and artists!
