At CRLAF, we believe legislative work is crucial because it proactively creates guardrails for impacted populations to create real world change. Legislative work uplifts collective power and brings the voices and concerns of those at the forefront tackling systemic injustices to the decision-making table. CRLAF works as the vanguard for elevating farmworker needs to federal and state levels to impact legislative change. 

CRLAF is uniquely positioned to do legislative work because its advocates directly come from the communities we serve, communities that are underrepresented and underserved, and have long-standing relationships with community-based organizations that network to ensure that vulnerable immigrants have access to legal protection, legal information, and resources. Informed by our practitioners’ legal expertise and connectivity to the communities we and our partners serve, our legislative advocacy creates lasting, enforceable, and tangible change in farmworker housing, labor and employment, immigration and health, and pesticide and worker safety.
