This marathon isn’t just mine, it’s theirs, too. Runnin' for Rhett.

This December, I will be running 26.2 miles, but this race is about far more than a finish line.

I am a fourth year medical student applying to ophthalmology residency, and through the rigors of medical school, running has been my outlet. It is where I find clarity, discipline, and peace. Running keeps me balanced and reminds me of the power of movement, both for the body and the mind.

That is why I am passionate about supporting Runnin’ for Rhett, a nonprofit that helps kids across the Sacramento community discover that same joy of movement. Through its Youth Fitness Program, thousands of students train for and complete their very first 5K at no cost to them. These kids learn perseverance, self confidence, and teamwork, one stride at a time.

As I train for my marathon, I think about them often. Every early morning run and every sore muscle reminds me that movement changes lives.

I am asking for your help to make that possible for more kids.

  • $45 sponsors a new pair of running shoes for a student

  • $84 supports one child through the entire program for a year

Every dollar helps a child lace up, show up, and cross their own finish line.

Thank you for helping me run this race for Rhett, for these kids, and for something bigger than myself.
