Empower Women and Girls in our Community!

Being a member of Soroptimist International of Davis has been very rewarding, giving me purpose, motivation to help and participate in my community, new experiences, and friends who help and support each other.

I’d like to give back to this organization and ask you to help me do that by donating money to our club during Big Day of Giving, April 23 – May 7. One donation to the Davis Soroptimist Club is a way to benefit many worthy organizations in Yolo County! See below for all the good we do in our community. Please help us continue these projects by donating during the Big Day of Giving. 

Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Our Davis club impacts our community in many ways, such as:

• awarding grants to women facing obstacles as they pursue their education
• meeting with high school students who face barriers through our Dream It, Be It program, to provide them with career guidance, goal setting, encouragement, and motivation
• hands-on service such as collecting food for STEAC, making hygiene bags for Empower Yolo to give to women and families escaping domestic violence, packing food with Yolo Food Bank, and planning social gatherings or craft times with underserved or disadvantaged groups near us
• bringing awareness to the issue of human trafficking and providing backpacks filled with supplies for trafficking survivors

Soroptimist International of Davis invests in the dreams of women and girls here in Davis, throughout Yolo County, and around the world. Please help us raise the funds needed to continue all of our beneficial programs.

Note that:

$25 can fill 8 hygiene bags for local shelters

$100 can fill a rescue backpack for our anti-trafficking program

$50 puts a cell phone with pre-paid minutes in that backpack so women can reconnect with family and resources
