Abe Kanan's Fundraiser (KRXQ)

I chose the Placer SPCA as my Big Day of Giving charity because I truly love dogs and cats, and I believe in everything this organization stands for. They do incredible work in our community by rescuing and caring for thousands of animals, reuniting lost pets with their owners, and finding loving homes for those who deserve a second chance.

They also provide essential services like spay and neuter programs, vaccinations, pet food assistance, and even financial support for families going through tough times so they can keep their pets.

This cause really hits home for me. My dog, Shelly, who I had for 14 years, meant the world to me. My girlfriend’s dog, Izzy, was also such a big part of my life. And even now, her cat, Orange Kitty, is part of our everyday world.

I just love animals, and I deeply admire the work the Placer SPCA does to save them, care for them, and connect them with loving homes. It’s truly an amazing organization filled with people doing meaningful, compassionate work.

This year, I’m launching a weekly feature on my radio show called “The Dogs of the Abe Kanan Show,” where I’ll be highlighting dogs from the Placer SPCA. I’m really excited to get started.
