Kiwanis Family House plays a crucial part in the healing journey of more than 2000 Californians each year by providing low to no cost temporary housing for families experiencing a medical crisis while seeking care at UC Davis or Shriners Northern California in Sacramento. The house serves as a space of comfort and "calm within the storm" by relieving some of the already difficult financial stress for families during ongoing medical treatments. Kiwanis Family House helps families to stay together during some of the hardest moments of their lives so they can be there to support their loved one's recovery process.
