Keep Kids Reading All Year!

Help us inspire children to read by providing free books as part of Book First and the Summer Reading Challenge. These two library programs are funded by Friends of the Sacramento Public Library--with your support. I have participated in many Book First distributions and know that, for many children, these are the first books they have ever owned.  Isn't that hard to imagine? In addition, the Book First program has created and strengthens a relationship between the schools and the library. It encourages first graders to visit the library (and see the wonders that await them) by providing a third free book to children who come to the library as a result of a Book First visit.
