We Take Care of Cache Creek. It Takes Care of You

During this 2024 Big Day of Giving, we hope to raise funds for 

• John Deer Gator: We use the Gator to haul our spray rig for invasive weed management down in Cache Creek and up on the creek benches. We use it to pull the mower over many acres of grass. It hauls tons of debris off trails and out of planted areas. A new engine for the Gator costs $9,500
• A Frog and Bird Pond and water fountain in the preserve's Memorial Garden area - Right now there is no potable water at the Nature Preserve. We'll need testing and filtering to install a much-needed, public water fountain. We can then trench a little further to build a frog and bird pond. Estimated cost: $3,500
• Removal of invasive Blackberry shrubs in the Gordon Slough, followed by revegetation with the Center for Land Based Learning SLEWS kids - This project will help the local wildlife a lot! Estimated cost: $6,500
• The work and materials involved in providing our free educational and family fun outdoor events - Anything over our $10k goal will go to our Public Outreach activities.

The things we do at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve are not only interesting and fun, what we accomplish is used as a model for restoring the rest of the Creek and for other regions in California.
