Our young people need you! I am asking you to share in my support of the EGEEO Foundation, Inc. during this year’s Big Day of Giving (BDOG) on Thursday, May 7th. I have volunteered with the Foundation since 2002, and they have provided thousands of dollars to scholarships and local organizations.
My 2026 BDOG fundraising page goal for EGEEO is $2,000.00.
Last year, through its "Pursue your Dream Scholarship Program," the Foundation provided over $10,500 in financial assistance to high school seniors and continuing college students whose permanent addresses are in the greater Sacramento area. Since 2019, the Foundation has partnered with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Eta Gamma Omega Chapter to support local high school and college students.
Many thanks to past donors who have helped the following students:
Grant High School graduate Aman Cord attends Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he majors in political science with a minor in economics. He shares his goal: “to bring the issue of politics back to my community and initiate political education in middle schools, empowering students to shape local policies. In the long term, I aspire to become a state representative in California, where I can directly shape policies. This isn’t the end of my story. It’s just the preamble. Thank you for supporting me with this scholarship.”
Adam Thomas graduated from Bella Vista High school and currently attends UCLA majoring in biology.. “Mental health is an essential part of my life, and I want to create real change in the way mental health is perceived. I plan to become a psychiatrist and make a positive impact in my community.”
Mona Stall earned a scholarship as a Grant Union High School senior with a 3.9 cumulative GPA. She has been awarded additional scholarships in her first two years at HBCU Morgan State University, where she has earned a spot on the Dean’s List. “Thank you for awarding me a scholarship; the financial assistance is needed, and I am grateful. Thank you.”
Zenola Brown is a Marketing major at Cal State Northridge and a student-athlete. As someone passionate about STEM and digital innovation, she states, “I’m focused on using technology in marketing to elevate underrepresented athletes, especially women and youth of color. This scholarship lightens my financial burden and fuels my purpose. Thank you for believing in me—I’m committed to paying it forward with passion, purpose, and integrity.”
I truly appreciate your tax-deductible support and ask that you consider joining me this year in supporting our scholars whose primary residence is in the greater Sacramento area. Your generosity will help our students attain their goal of a college degree. I am starting with a $100 contribution. It would be great if you would match this amount. However, any amount you are able to donate will help us reach our goal and positively impact our local students.
A huge thank you for your generosity and support.
