Wanda Peecher was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was devoted to and tremendously loved by her family, but also by so many others. Wanda was an avid reader with an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. Wanda was a strong Black woman who had 7 children and worked outside of the home, which was unpopular during her time. She believed that anyone could overcome anything and was a part of the early feminist movement. Wanda was the rock of her family.
Last year, we raised $500 to award a young woman starting her college journey. Let's do it again this year! We look forward to selecting a 2024 recipient who reflects these values; someone who Wanda Peecher would be proud to award a scholarship in her name.
