Help us build our own Filipino Community Center! We own a 1.9-acre lot at the corner of 66th Avenue and East Southgate free of any encumbrances.  At this time, we are working with an architect for conceptual drawings and renderings. In addition to owning the land, we also continue to raise funds for construction.

The Center will provide an inclusive space to connect, civically engage, offer programs and services, and socialize. We envision the Center to function as a multi-purpose hub dedicated to Filipino American organizations for community meetings, cultural and arts programming, health and wellness programs and activities for our youth and seniors, as well as civic engagement and mobilization initiatives, including voter registration and turn-out.

As we believe you know, almost 1.5 million Filipinos live in California, or approximately 26.5% of the state's Asian population. Filipino Americans are the largest Asian American ethnic group in the state. In the greater Sacramento region, Filipino Americans number at approximately 74,000, having grown 85% from 2000-2010. With a Filipino Community Center, we anticipate the following impacts to serve residents:

  • Serves as a hub for health and wellness programs and activities projects such as vaccination drives, meal delivery projects, and Medi-Cal promotion initiatives.
  • Promotes healthy living through classes and seminars across social, mental, and physical health.
  • Unites our community and provides a place to connect, civically engage, volunteer, and socialize; it also serves as a hub for rapid-response for community activation and a central point to offer intergenerational programs and services.
  • Combats isolation with a place to visit, especially for our seniors.
  • Positively impacts our Filipino American youth by offering a space to congregate and participate in civic and cultural programs.
  • Celebrates creativity and culture through visual arts exhibitions, classes, and cultural activities.
  • Offers rapid response and valuable information on timely issues such as combating anti-Asian hate and other community concerns to stay connected on important priorities.
  • Offers educational opportunities and career workshops focusing on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, job searches, resume writing, interviewing, immigration, and other topics to serve our community, including those newly-arrived and transitioning careers or joining the workforce.
