Once again I'm raising funds for the Literacy is Key event in the memory of my mom Cecilia's name. The last 2 years, we have raised over $5,800 to give young kids a book to help them learn to read. We gave away "The Carousel King and the Space Mission" a bilingual book that is based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math). Our event this year will be held on September 7 at McClatchy Park and again we will have booths, giveaways and story time along with the books that we give to the kids in attendance. To see kids and their parents share in the story time reading is so wonderful and greatly appreciated. CRP is making a difference in our community by educating and giving away books, some to kids who have never owned a book before. The funds raised will continue to go towards that important mission of giving a book and getting kids to read at an early age. Thank you everyone for your support.
