Tim's Literacy Is Key for CRP Fundraiser

Literacy Is Key 

I'm raising funds for the Literacy is Key event in the memory of my mom Cecilia's name. In the last 4 years, we have raised over $12,000 to give young kids a book to help them learn to read.  Last year we gave away 3 books from 3 different authors who reflect our many different populations in the Sacramento area.  We are still planning the date for this year's event in September and look forward to seeing all the wonderful families out there.  We had over 400 people attend last year and it was our most successful to date.  We will have food, booths, giveaways and story time along with the books that we give to the kids in attendance.  To see kids and their parents share in the story time reading is so wonderful and greatly appreciated.  CRP is making a difference in our community by educating and giving away books, some to kids who have never owned a book before.  To date we have given away over 1500 books to a much needed community.  The funds raised will continue to go towards that mission of giving a book to a child and getting kids to read at an early age.  It's been proven that kids who start to read early do much better in school at an early age and develop skills that can focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).  Thank you to my friends & family for all your support these years.  It truly makes a difference.
